The Coalition for Energy Governance was launched in January 2021. It aims to promote good governance in the energy sector in Lebanon, through information dissemination, monitoring and assessment, advocacy and awareness raising. These actions will be achieved by all legal means, in compliance with the laws and regulations in force.
The Coalition consists of a diverse group of members, ranging from lawyers and environmental specialists to experts in policy reform, governance, and transparency. The Coalition is constantly looking to add new members that will expand its scope and expertise, with the support of Publish What You Pay.
Objectives of the coalition:
- ->Developing civil society’s capacities to play its monitoring role in terms of good governance in the energy sector.
- ->Promoting transparency and accountability to implement the necessary reforms, through supporting the role of CSOs in local and international initiatives, such as the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
