Co-organised by PWYP, IRMA and ResponsibleSteel, this side event will gather diverse actors working to advance responsible environmental, social, and economic practices across transition mineral supply chains, as demands escalate to meet the energy transition and Paris Agreement targets.
Speakers from civil society, including Anabella Rosemberg from CAN-I and Adam Anthony from PWYP Tanzania, will address the national and regional policies needed to support value addition and benefit sharing in the sector, and will discuss the global barriers to achieving this in a way that respects human and Indigenous rights and protects the environment. The event will feature speakers from PWYP, IRMA, ResponsibleSteel, and the UN Secretary-General’s Panel on Critical Energy Transition Minerals.
