PWYP’s Annual Report 2023 highlights the main achievements and impacts that the movement had collectively over the past year, as well as the state of our finances.
2023 was marked by significant achievements and collective efforts within the PWYP community. Major milestones included securing EITI provisions for the global energy transition and climate crisis, and obtaining a commitment to disclose contracts on a lithium project in Mali. Events like the Africa Conference in Senegal brought over 200 members together to discuss sustainable development and equitable energy futures. Despite these successes, challenges persisted, such as the arbitrary detention of PWYP member Gubad Ibadoghlu in Azerbaijan, highlighting the ongoing struggle for civic space and activist safety.
